Last thing for the London Motorcycle museum

My New Blog

As I have posted my last submission for the London Motorcycle Museum I still have things I want to say. I have a wide range of interests that include travel, cars and motorcycles. My most recent adventure has been to ride an Enfield Himalayan in the Himalayas riding seven of the highest passes in India. This was included in my last post Something for the Museum but really as the Museum has now closed the finale of the last few days was an impressive number of people attending and paying their respects to Bill Crosby, the patron of the museum and getting the last view before many of the bikes go off to Stafford and the Bonhams auction on 19th and 20th October 2019. I have now collected all the bits that I loaned to the Museum and now have to find somewhere to put them. It was a sad day when the doors of the Museum closed  and being a volunteer there since 2011 when I retired and then writing the Museum Blog since February 2013 putting together 189 postings I will now have to find "Something Else" to do on Mondays. As a final farewell to the era of the London Motorcycle Museum here area a few pictures taken on Barbecue Sunday 6th October.

Just to peak your interest not only do I work on my old  motorcycles the Greenford Police LE the most recent, but I have built two kit cars based on the Citroen 2CV, an El Cid ( Mehari replica) and a two seater sports car  the Burton Classic. I have a series on "How to build a kit car" on UDEMI if you would like to spend £10 but probably better just to save the money and give me a call. I have a wealth of phots of building bikes and cars. I am now part way through restoring a 2CV that was converted to a van and has a glass fibre van shell at the back and the car body at the front both were not in very good condition after being in a field for years.

However my passion for different things has got me into this project and now need to progress to completion before I reach an age where I am not able to enjoy driving it. Some of the build with be reported in this new Blog.  I have just completed an article, too big for light reading about my last adventure of driving to Croatia in the Burton Classic to attend the 23rd World Meeting in Samobor of the Friends of 2CV. An epic trip of some 3000 miles in what is effectively a thirty year old car.

Earlier on this year I was in Assam and Guwahati at the Bihu celebrations and appeared on stage as an honoured guest at a pop concert that was broadcast live on local tv. Just last weekend I appeared in a fashion show at an Indian religious festival, Puja, in Slough. Who knows where I will pop up next? If you would like to see more photos or videos and need information just ask. I have a wide ranging knowledge of motorcycles, cars and places that I can share.
